Hello!
We are a family of 5 living in Leidsche rijn Utrecht. Dad is Dutch, Mum is Irish and we have 3 beautiful boys.
We are looking for a new begeleider to join our team (beginning Okt 27). Your role will see you attending school with our 9 year old son on Mondays & Wednesdays (7:00/8:00-14:15) & Fridays (7:00/8:00-12:15). On 2/3 mornings I would like you to start at the earlier time and get Fabian up, do his cough assist/dressing, toileting etc. You also need to be available during summer holidays. Of course there are weeks during the summer, and other holiday periods when we are away and you will then be off but availability during the holidays is a priority.
Fabian goes into groep 6 in the local basisschool (walking distance from our house) His two younger brothers (7 & 5) also attend this school. He is a lovely, active young boy. He loves drawing and plays hockey and football in Amsterdam each Saturday. . Fabian has a neuromuscular condition called SMA. He has used a wheelchair since he was 21 months old and does not walk/weight bear. He has a mickay button which we use to give simple medications daily. We also use a cough assist machine twice daily but this is rarely done at school. All his care and handling is easily learned!
During the school day, while at school with Fabian, his care is pretty basic. However very necessary and hence the need for school begeleiding. Help is around toileting moments (he uses an plaasfles at school) and getting his jacket on & off, setting him up with Chromebook etc. Carers also come to our house during the day and do some tasks for Fabian in our home (cleaning of his bedroom and bathroom). It is very important that the carers are more in the background during the school day. Fabian is a bright boy, and learning more and more how to stand on his own two feet! (Pun intended!)
We are looking for something who is enthusiastic, strong, caring, creative, energetic & preferably strong with a can-do attitude! Non smoking. We have a ceiling lift but I don’t use it yet. Fabian is 28kg.
Drivers license is a must! On occasion driving the bus to school outings is required(when there’s no toegankelijk transport for Fabian) and also during school holidays I’d like you to be creative and do fun things!
You will also have a role supporting me, during the holidays, as the mom who is very hands on with all her boys. Wees niet bang ik kan ook goed Nederlands verstaan en spreken. Maar wil liever deze attentie in Engels schrijven! I like to continue going to the gym/running during the holidays so on occasion you would have the 3 boys for a couple of hours.
If you have professional qualifications you can be paid at the formal rate 30-40 euro. However also happy if you are younger and are happy to be paid at the the informeel tarief.
